A Watch-Only Shop Serving Atlanta Area Since 2006
Watch strap and band replacement is the process of removing a worn, damaged, or unwanted strap and fitting a new one to your watch. Cracked leather, a stretched bracelet, a broken clasp, or simply a style you’ve outgrown: if the watch runs fine but no longer wears the way it should, a strap replacement is often all it needs.
As a family-owned, watch-only repair and restoration shop in Johns Creek, It’s About Time Inc. has been serving the Atlanta area since 2006. Our watchmaking roots go back generations, with training that began under Omega-certified masters and continued through WOSTEP certification, service roles with Rolex at Tourneau and Mayors, and experience with Richemont and Audemars Piguet. Every watch we work on benefits from that depth of experience.
Watch-Only. Since 2006.

Signs It's Time to Replace Your Watch Strap or Band
Not sure if your strap needs replacing or just cleaning? Here are the most common signs we see:
- Cracking, fraying, or stiffness in leather straps, especially along the fold and buckle area.
- Stretched or loose bracelet links that cause the watch to slide on the wrist.
- Broken or stuck clasp that no longer opens and closes correctly.
- Missing or damaged pins that prevent the strap from staying attached to the case.
- Visible wear or discolorationthat detracts from the watch's appearance.
- Rubber or silicone strap degrading common after years of sweat, sunscreen, and UV exposure.
If you’re unsure, bring the watch in. We’ll take a look and tell you what it needs before any work begins.

How Strap and Band Replacement Works
Replacing a strap is more involved than it looks, especially on a luxury watch:
- Lug measurement and fit verification. The new strap must match the lug width of your case exactly. An ill-fitting strap damages the lugs over time.
- Spring bar removal and strap attachment. Spring bars are the small pins that hold the strap to the case. On many luxury watches, they are recessed or require specialty tools to remove without scratching the case.
- Bracelet fitting and sizing. For metal bracelets, we remove or add links to size the bracelet to your wrist, verify the clasp function, and confirm the fit before the watch leaves the shop.
- Case inspection. While the strap is off, we inspect the case back and gaskets. If we spot wear or damage, we flag it before returning the watch.
All work is performed in-house by our certified watchmakers. Your watch is never sent to a third-party shop.
Strap and Band Options We Offer

- Rubber and silicone: sport and dive watches including Omega Seamaster, TAG Heuer Aquaracer, and similar models.

FAQ
Can you replace the strap on any watch brand?
We work with the full range of luxury and everyday watches. For Omega, TAG Heuer, Cartier, Jaeger-LeCoultre, NOMOS, and several others, we are an authorized service center. Our watchmakers also hold certifications from manufacturers including Rolex, IWC, Panerai, and Audemars Piguet. If you are not sure whether we can help with your specific model, call us or stop by.
Do you use genuine or aftermarket straps?
It depends on the watch and what the customer prefers. For authorized brands, we source genuine manufacturer straps where available. For other models, we use quality aftermarket straps that match the correct lug width, material, and finish. We will explain the options and let you decide before any work begins.
How long does a strap replacement take?
For most watches, strap replacement is a quick service, often completed the same day or while you wait. We will give you a clear timeframe when you bring the watch in.
My bracelet is stretched. Can it be repaired, or does it need to be replaced?
We handle both. A stretched bracelet can often be adjusted or have worn links tightened without full replacement. We inspect first and tell you what the right option is before recommending anything. If replacement is needed, we can source appropriate options for your model. Bracelet adjustment and sizing is also a standalone service — we are building a dedicated page for it.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk-ins are welcome Monday through Saturday, 10am to 6pm. If you prefer to ship your watch, visit our mail-in repair page for instructions.
Can I mail my watch in for strap replacement?
Yes. If you are not able to visit our Johns Creek location, you can ship your watch to us for strap replacement and service. We handle all work in-house using the same tools and process as our in-store repairs.
